Meet the Team
Principal Investigator
Pradip Pachfule
Dr. Pradip Pachfule studied chemistry at Solapur University (India), and graduated in 2008. He received his Ph.D. at CSIR-National Chemical Laboratory, Pune (India), under the supervision of Prof. Rahul Banerjee in 2014. Later, he worked as a JSPS postdoctoral research fellow in Prof. Qiang Xu's laboratory at AIST, Kansai, Osaka (Japan). This was followed by working in the group of Prof. Arne Thomas as an Alexander von Humboldt postdoctoral fellow and a postdoctoral research fellow at the Technische Universität Berlin (Germany) from 2017 to 2021. He is currently working as an assistant professor at S. N. Bose National Centre for Basic Sciences, Kolkata, India. His research is focused on covalent organic frameworks and their applications in photocatalysis, energy storage.

Postdoctoral Researchers
Akhtar Alam
Dr. Akhtar Alam received his Ph.D. degree in chemistry from the Department of Chemistry, Indian Institute of Technology Patna (India), in March 2022. Following his Ph.D., he is currently working as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Department of Chemical and Biological Sciences at S. N. Bose National Centre for Basic Sciences, Kolkata (India). His current research interests focus on the design and synthesis of novel covalent organic frameworks (COFs) for photocatalytic water splitting and hydrogen peroxide generation.

Doctoral (PhD) Students
Bikash Mishra
Bikash Mishra is currently pursuing his Ph.D. degree at the Department of Chemical and Biological Sciences at S. N. Bose National Centre for Basic Sciences, Kolkata, India. He was awarded his Bachelor of Science in chemistry from Sidho-Kanho-Birsha University, Purulia. He pursued his Master of Science in organic chemistry from Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi. Currently, his research is focused on water splitting and energy storage using by covalent organic frameworks (COFs).

Bidhan Kumbhakar
Bidhan Kumbhakar is currently pursuing his Ph.D. degree from the Department of Chemical and Biological Sciences at S. N. Bose National Centre for Basic Sciences, Kolkata, India. He has completed his Bachelor of Science in chemistry from Sidho-Kanho-Birsha University, Purulia, and Master of Science in chemistry from Pondicherry University, Pondicherry (India). His research is currently focused on synthesizing metal-chelated covalent organic frameworks for hydrogen production and organic transformations

Supriti Dutta
Supriti Dutta is currently a Ph.D. student in the Department of Chemical and Biological Sciences at the S.N. Bose National Centre for Basic Sciences. She got Bachelor of Science (Chemistry) and Master of Science (Organic Chemistry) degrees from Sidho-Kanho Birsha University, Purulia. After that, she worked as a research student at the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay (India). Currently, her area of research is focused on synthesizing macrocycle-based covalent organic frameworks.

Avanti Chakraborty
Avanti Chakraborty is currently pursuing her Ph.D. degree from the Department of Chemical and Biological Sciences at S. N. Bose National Centre for Basic Sciences, Kolkata. She was awarded her Bachelor of Science (Chemistry) from the University of Calcutta. She pursued her Master of Science in Physical Chemistry from Banaras Hindu University. After that, she worked as a project assistant at S. N. Bose National Centre for Basic Sciences, Kolkata. Currently, her research area focuses on the photosynthesis of hydrogen peroxide using covalent organic frameworks.

Project Students
Chowdhury Ismat Nurani
Chowdhury Ismat Nurani is currently working as a Project Student in the Department of Science and Technology (India) sponsored TRC project at the Department of Chemical and Biological Sciences at S. N. Bose National Centre for Basic Sciences, Kolkata, India. She completed her integrated B.Sc-M.Sc in chemistry at Aliah University, Kolkata. Her ongoing research centers on the synthesis of Zeolitic imidazolate frameworks for energy storage.
